IMPEACHMENT: President Donald Trump Acquitted by U.S Senate

Acquitted: Senate finds Trump not guilty of abuse of power, obstruction of justice.

The third Senate impeachment trial of a sitting president in US history concluded Wednesday afternoon with votes finding the President not guilty of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, the impeachment articles the House charged Trump with in December. Romney was the sole Republican to vote to convict the President on the first article of impeachment, abuse of power, joining with all Senate Democrats in a 52-48 not guilty vote. Romney voted with Republicans against the obstruction of Congress charge, which fell along straight party lines, 53-47 for acquittal.

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after President Trump delivered his State of the Union Address:

“We are always hopeful when a President makes a State of the Union address.  We welcome any opportunity to extend the hand of friendship to find common ground on behalf of the American people.  The issue of major concern to most Americans is health care.  Tonight, House Democrats brought scores of guests to the State of the Union who have powerful health care stories, whether it is families with pre-existing conditions, families struggling to afford the prescription drugs they need, or families relying on Medicaid even though they have private insurance.  We had been told the President would have a positive message on health care.


First Lady of Lesotho Charged with Murder.

Lesotho’s first lady Maesaiah Thabane was on Tuesday charged with the murder and attempted murder of Prime Minister Thomas Thabane’s estranged wife Lipolelo.

Maesaiah went missing last month after she was asked to hand herself in to police for questioning regarding an investigation into the killing of Lipolelo.

JUST IN: Trump Administration set to formally announce extension of travel ban.

The Trump administration on Friday is expected to announce an expansion of the travel ban, a revision of one of the President’s signature policies.

According to CNN, the updated ban will include six new countries.
