W.H.O officially declares CORONAVIRUS A Public Health Emergency.

The World Health Organization has officially declared the Wuhan coronavirus a public health emergency of international concern. The organization had been withholding such a declaration, but due to the rapidly rising number of diagnoses and deaths, plus the evidence of person-to-person transmission cases outside China (including one in the US), they had no other option but to reconsider their stance. It’s largely a political move that serves as a signal to governments to take the outbreak seriously.

U.S ends Birth-tourism for Pregnant women.

The United States has announced that it would no longer issue temporary visitor visas to pregnant women seeking to enter the country for so-called “birth tourism.”

In announcing the rule change, which takes effect today (Friday), the White House said foreigners were using the visas “to secure automatic and permanent American citizenship for their children by giving birth on American soil.”
